Vegas Was Made for the Camera

No other city on earth compresses so many visually extraordinary environments within an hour's drive. From the neon-saturated corridors of the Strip at blue hour to the ancient red sandstone formations of Valley of Fire at golden hour, Las Vegas offers professional photographers and their subjects an almost unfair range of backdrops.

At LVWC.com, our photo shoot team has been working these locations for over 27 years. We don't just know them — we know exactly where to stand, when to arrive, which light is coming, and how to use each location to create images that look nothing like what you'd find on a stock photography site.

Whether you're celebrating an engagement, creating post-wedding portraits, building content for your social channels, or proposing on a hidden cliff above the Colorado River, we have a session format for you.

Session Types

What Kind of Session Are You Looking For?

Couples & Engagements

Romantic desert portraits for couples at every stage — early in the relationship, newly engaged, or celebrating anniversaries. Our photographers specialize in natural, un-posed connection rather than stiff studio poses.

Proposals

We photograph surprise proposals at iconic Las Vegas locations — from the Bellagio fountains at night to private desert cliff tops at Valley of Fire. Discreet positioning, advance planning with the proposer only.

Post-Wedding & Day After

Wedding day photography is rushed. The day-after session gives you time — real time — to create the most cinematic images in your wedding attire with no schedule pressure.

Family, Bachelorette & Groups

Multi-person sessions at the Welcome Sign, Seven Magic Mountains, and the Strip. Includes solo portraits for each person, group compositions, and candid group dynamics shots.

Solo & Influencer Sessions

High-production solo editorial sessions for content creators, social media, travel influencers, and personal brand photography. Vertical format for Reels/TikTok available alongside standard ratios.

Location Guides

Know Your Location Before You Arrive

Every location has a best time, a best angle, and a worst outfit. Here is our insider guide to getting the most from each.

Couple at the famous Las Vegas Welcome Sign photo shoot — golden hour

South Las Vegas Boulevard

The Las Vegas Welcome Sign

The most iconic photograph in Las Vegas. The original "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada" sign is instantly recognizable worldwide — and when shot at golden hour with the desert sky behind you, it becomes one of the most striking couple portraits available anywhere in the city.

Pro Tips

  • Book sunrise sessions for empty sign & warm east-light
  • A median in the road — traffic shoots are best planned with a spotter
  • Dress to contrast: neon, white, deep jewel tones all photograph beautifully

Style Guide

White, cream, or deep navy contrast perfectly with the vintage gold and neon colors of the sign. Avoid beige. Statement dresses and suits read especially well from a distance.

Couple photo shoot on the Las Vegas Strip at night with casino lights

Las Vegas Boulevard

The Las Vegas Strip

At night, the Strip is unlike anywhere else on earth — a corridor of lights, scale, and spectacle. Our Strip photo sessions use the casino architecture, fountains, neon, and crowds as a living backdrop, turning the city itself into your stage.

Pro Tips

  • Blue hour (20 min after sunset) gives you sky + lights simultaneously
  • Bellagio Fountain shows run every 30 min at night — time your shots
  • Colored light from signage creates naturally cinematic color grading

Style Guide

Maximalist looks work here. Deep reds, emeralds, and blacks pop against the ambient neon. Sequins and metallics read especially well in the evening mixed light.

Photo shoot at Seven Magic Mountains colorful boulder art installation Nevada

10 Miles South of Las Vegas · Free Admission

Seven Magic Mountains

Ugo Rondinone's monumental art installation — stacked neon-painted boulders rising 30–35 feet from the Mojave Desert floor — is unlike any wedding photography backdrop on earth. The juxtaposition of ancient desert and art gallery color creates images that are impossible anywhere else.

Pro Tips

  • Open sunrise to sunset, free, no reservation required
  • Golden hour shoots get desert warmth + saturated boulder colors simultaneously
  • Popular on weekends — book a Tuesday/Wednesday morning for private feel

Style Guide

The boulders are painted in electric yellow, orange, fuchsia, and green. Complementary tones — cobalt blue, white, black, deep plum — stand out cleanly. Avoid orange or yellow which blend into the installation.

Couple photo shoot at Valley of Fire red rock desert sunset Las Vegas Nevada

1 Hour from Las Vegas Strip

Valley of Fire & Nelson Ghost Town

For the most dramatic desert landscapes in the American Southwest, Valley of Fire and Nelson Ghost Town remain unmatched. Red Aztec sandstone formations, ghost town Americana, and vast desert sky create a cinematic quality that can't be replicated in the city. These are the locations our wedding photography clients rave about most.

Pro Tips

  • Valley of Fire requires a State Park day-use permit — LVWC handles this for you
  • Spring and fall are ideal: comfortable temperatures, lower crowds
  • The Seven Sisters rock formation at Valley of Fire is among the most photographed desert wedding spots in the country

Style Guide

Cream, white, champagne, and earthy rust tones are harmonious with the red rock. Deep burgundy and hunter green create beautiful contrast. Avoid red — it blends directly into the landscape.

Photo Shoot FAQs

What is the best time of day for a Las Vegas photo shoot?
Golden Hour — the 60–90 minutes after sunrise or before sunset — produces the warmest, most cinematic light. It's also the cooler part of the day for desert locations. The iconic Welcome Sign shoots best in the hour before the Strip crowds arrive, typically just after sunrise.
Which Las Vegas photo shoot location should we choose?
The Welcome Sign is iconic and fast. Seven Magic Mountains delivers bold color-pop art gallery energy. Valley of Fire or Nelson Ghost Town gives you breathtaking desert red rock. We recommend combining two locations in a single extended session — our team will plan the ideal route for you.
How long does a photo shoot session take?
Standard sessions run 60–90 minutes at a single location. Extended sessions (2–3 hours) allow for two or more locations, multiple outfit changes, and more variety.
Can you help us with hair and makeup for the shoot?
Yes. We partner with professional Las Vegas bridal hair and makeup artists for on-location and in-studio prep. Ask about bundle pricing when you book.
Do you offer post-wedding or anniversary photo shoots?
Absolutely. Post-wedding portrait sessions — sometimes called "trash the dress" or "day after" shoots — are among our most popular bookings. We'll take you somewhere extraordinary in your wedding attire for images that are more relaxed and cinematic than the wedding day itself.
Can we combine a photo shoot with our wedding package?
Yes. All of our outdoor wedding packages (Valley of Fire, Nelson Ghost Town, Eldorado Lakebed) include a photography session with a professional photographer. We can extend the session or schedule a separate shoot at an additional location.
How do we receive our photos?
Edited images are delivered to a private online gallery within 5–7 business days. You receive high-resolution full-rights downloads for all selected images. Rush delivery within 48 hours is available on request.
Do you offer video for photo shoot sessions?
Yes. Cinematic short-form video (1–2 minute highlight reel) can be added to any photo shoot session. This is especially popular for the Welcome Sign and Seven Magic Mountains.
