Step-by-Step Process

1

Optional: Pre-Apply Online

Visit the Clark County online portal to complete your pre-application. You'll receive a confirmation number that gets you into the express line.

2

Both Partners Appear in Person

You must both be present at the bureau. Bring your valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport). Both must be 18 or older.

3

Pay the $102 Fee

Cash, credit card, or debit card accepted. No check. The fee is non-refundable.

4

Receive Your License

Your license is issued immediately — no waiting period. It is valid for one year and is recognized in all 50 US states and many countries.

5

Get Married & File

After your ceremony, your officiant signs the license and files it with the Clark County Recorder's Office. Your certified marriage certificate typically arrives within one week.

International Couples

If you need your Nevada marriage certificate recognized in another country, it will need an Apostille — a form of international authentication. LVWC offers Apostille authentication services for couples who need their certificate globally recognized. Ask about this when you book.

Marriage License FAQs

$102 — accepted via cash, credit card, or debit card.
Is there a waiting period?
No. Nevada has no waiting period. Your license is valid immediately upon issuance and remains valid for one year.
What do we need to bring?
Both partners must appear in person with a valid government-issued photo ID. Driver's license, state ID, or passport all work. You do not need to bring a birth certificate.
Do we need an appointment?
No appointment is required. You can complete an online pre-application at the Clark County website to receive a confirmation number for faster express-line access, but walk-ins are fully accepted.
What if one of us was previously divorced?
You must provide the exact finalization date (month and year) and location of the divorce. You do not need to bring a physical copy of your divorce decree.
What if we are international visitors?
International couples should bring valid passports. LVWC offers Apostille authentication services for couples who need their Nevada marriage certificate recognized in another country.
When should we expect busy days at the Marriage Bureau?
High-demand dates like 6-6-26, 8-8-26, or 6-26-26 draw large crowds. Plan to arrive early or use the online pre-application to save time.
When do we get our official marriage certificate?
After your ceremony, your marriage license is filed with the Clark County Recorder's Office — typically within one week. LVWC provides concierge services to obtain certified copies, with expedited next-day filing available on request.
