Eloping in Las Vegas is remarkably simple compared to a traditional wedding — no venue minimums, no catering contracts, no guest list negotiations. But simple is not the same as automatic. A handful of details require attention before you arrive, and a few more matter on the day itself.

Desert terrain is beautiful but uneven. Flat sandals or wedges work beautifully on sand and rock; heels sink into the ground and make walking difficult on natural surfaces. Most couples find that the practical choice and the photogenic one are the same: grounded, confident movement reads better in photos than careful tiptoeing.

Light fabrics in desert tones — cream, ivory, blush, sage, terracotta — photograph beautifully against red rock. Darker solids hold detail well in bright desert light. Avoid pure white in direct sun, which can blow out in photos. What you love will almost certainly photograph well.

For morning ceremonies in spring, fall, and winter: plan for temperatures that may be 20°F cooler than the afternoon. A light wrap, jacket, or long sleeves for the drive to location keeps you comfortable. You can always remove layers once the sun rises and the ceremony begins. For summer: light, breathable fabrics and full sun protection are the practical priorities.
